Confessional Bible Society—Launching January 1, 2027

The Confessional Bible Society will launch on January 1, 2027 as the wider institutional home for a constructive program of research, publication, education, and textual resources. Confessional Bibliology will remain the flagship journal and research publication. The Society will help turn more than a decade of theological and historical work into durable institutions, open resources, serious publications, and training that can serve the church beyond one website or one worker.

The Mission

The Society exists to recover and advance the historic Protestant and Reformed doctrine of Holy Scripture; to conduct primary-source and textual research under Scripture rather than above it; to publish careful work in durable forms; to equip pastors, students, families, translators, and ordinary Christians; and to develop trustworthy resources for the preservation, study, translation, teaching, and defense of the Word of God.

What the Society Will Do

The first public program is organized around four permanent works:

  • Research: expand the Confessional Bibliology Research Center, historical-source records, passage dossiers, edition studies, and reproducible research tools.
  • Publication: sustain the Journal of Confessional Bibliology, publish books and source editions, and preserve major series in collected form.
  • Education: build courses, reading plans, language resources, and church-and-family materials that make serious bibliology accessible.
  • Textual resources: develop edition histories, variant dossiers, collation projects, translation support, and primary-source tools governed by confessional doctrine and transparent evidence.

What the Society Is Not

The Society will not be a church, presbytery, synod, or ecclesiastical court. It will not exercise the keys of Christ's kingdom, replace pastoral oversight, or bind the conscience by its own name. Its arguments must stand or fall beneath Holy Scripture and the subordinate standards it openly confesses. Its institutional work is intended to serve the church, not compete with it.

The Road to January 1

Before launch, the work will publish the governing documents, prepare the Journal, strengthen the Research Center, organize the source library, define editorial and correction procedures, and present a concrete 2027 program of work. Progress will be reported honestly. A launch date is a public commitment to an ordered beginning, not a claim that every long-term project is already complete.
