Help Us Route the Message

Please begin the subject line with one of these labels:

• Reader Question — a doctrinal, textual, historical, or site-use question;
• Correction — a possible factual, typographical, bibliographic, or linking error;
• Primary Source — a transcription, scan, edition, quotation, or archival lead;
• Rights — copyright, license, attribution, privacy, or removal request;
• Contribution — an article, review, transcript, translation, or research proposal; or
• Technical — a broken page, download, search, display, or accessibility problem.

What to Include

For a correction, include the exact page URL, the sentence or record concerned, the proposed correction, and a source that permits verification. For a rights inquiry, identify the work, file, claimant, and basis of the request. For a contribution, provide a short description and do not send an unsolicited large attachment.

Response and Privacy

Messages are reviewed as time permits. Submission does not guarantee a private consultation, publication, endorsement, or response. Personal information supplied in correspondence is used to address the inquiry and is not published without permission except where disclosure is required by law or necessary to address abuse. Public Corrections
