For the Research Center, De Rossi forms the Continental counterpart in the move from the received Masoretic edition toward extensive comparative data.
Bibliological positions
Hebrew manuscripts and early editions should be systematically compared, catalogued, and evaluated; textual history cannot be inferred from a single printed witness.
Qualifications and disputes
De Rossi’s bibliographical and collational achievements do not mean every reported variant has equal age or weight.
His relative contribution beside Kennicott and the later critical use of his data require work-level study.
