Transcripts
Transcripts organizes audio, video, lectures, debates, and transcripts by doctrine and subject.
Transcript Collection
Transcripts make audio and video searchable, citable, accessible, and easier to compare with primary sources. This page gathers approved transcripts connected to Media records rather than storing disconnected text files.
Transcript Types
- Edited transcript: verbal repetition and false starts may be reduced without changing the argument.
- Verbatim transcript: speech is represented as closely as practicable, with limited notation.
- Outline or notes: a structured aid that must not be called a full transcript.
- Historical transcription: text prepared from an older recording or document and governed by the site's transcription policy.
Every record should identify its type, speaker, title, date, media source, editor or transcriber, revision date, and any uncertain words.
Quotations and Citations
Quotations should link to a time stamp when the host permits it. Scripture references, book citations, and names may be corrected in brackets or notes, but substantive changes to a speaker's words must not be hidden. Exact scholarly citation should use the transcript version and access date.
Corrections and Rights
Transcript errors can be reported through the Contact page. Material corrections should be dated. A transcript does not cancel rights in the underlying performance, recording, or hosted media; publication requires an appropriate basis or permission.
Dynamic Listing
Published transcript records appear automatically when connected to the Media content type. If the list is empty, no transcript has yet completed editorial and rights review.
