Luke 10:20–21 — Names Written in Heaven and Jesus Rejoicing in the Spirit

Two adjacent variations are involved. The received text uses a simple past for names written and explicitly says Jesus rejoiced “in spirit”; the critical text uses a perfect-form inscription and says he rejoiced “in the Holy Spirit.”

Passage, principal readings, and stated editorial comparison checked against Scrivener’s received Greek text and the SBLGNT text and apparatus; exhaustive manuscript collation remains open. Metzger commentary entries were matched by exact passage where present; ECM/CBGM rationale is passage-specific only when an official editorial explanation is cited.
